State Fair Lemonade

June 10, 2026 by zakariasidki111@gmail.com

The sunshine hit my face as I took my first sip of homemade lemonade at the state fair, the sweet and tangy flavors bursting on my palate. This State Fair Lemonade is a quick and refreshing drink that takes just 10 minutes to prepare. With just a few ingredients, it captures that fairytale taste of summer and joy.

This recipe is perfect for anyone looking to cool down on a hot day or to quench their thirst during a backyard barbecue. It’s ideal for warm afternoons or family gatherings. You can store any leftover lemonade in the fridge for a refreshing treat later.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • It’s incredibly easy to prepare with minimal ingredients.
  • The muddling technique maximizes the juice and flavor.
  • This recipe is customizable with additional fruits or herbs.
  • Filled with ice, it’s chilled and refreshing for any occasion.

What You’ll Need

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious lemonade:

For the Lemonade

  • 2 small lemons, washed thoroughly
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • Ice

Use more or less sugar to taste.

  • Use sparkling water instead of still for fizz.
  • Mix in mint leaves for an herbal twist.
  • Try limes instead of lemons for a different flavor.

3. Muddle lemons

Muddle the lemons until you’ve gotten as much juice as possible out of them.

4. Add sugar

Add the sugar to the container with the lemons and give it a little shake. The lemon juice helps dissolve the sugar.

5. Fill with ice

Fill the container ¾ of the way with ice and then add the water.

6. Shake well

Place the lid on, before making the hole in it, and shake it really well, combining all the ingredients thoroughly.

7. Serve

Make a hole in the lid using a 5/16” hole punch, or by your preferred method, add a straw, and enjoy your fair lemonade!

How to Store It

Fridge: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Freezer: No, it can separate upon thawing.
Reheat: Not applicable; serve cold.

Tips for Best Results

  • Adjust the sugar quantity based on your preference for sweetness.
  • Serve immediately over ice for the best chilled experience.
  • Experiment with adding different fruits for unique flavors.

Serving Suggestions

  • Enjoy with fresh fruit skewers for a summer picnic.
  • Serve alongside grilled favorites at your next barbecue.
  • Pair with a slice of your favorite cake for dessert.
