In just about an hour, you can whip up a batch of this delicious lemonade that not only refreshes but also showcases the juicy flavors of ripe peaches.

This recipe is perfect for gatherings, picnics, or simple family refreshment on a hot day. You can make it a day in advance and store it in the fridge, making entertaining a breeze.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Fresh peach puree adds a unique sweetness and texture.
  • The balance of tart and sweet from the lemon juice enhances the flavors.
  • This drink is customizable—adjust the water to your preferred strength.
  • It’s a crowd-pleaser that’s visually appealing with its vibrant colors.

What You’ll Need

Here’s everything you need to prepare your peach lemonade.

For the Peach Puree

  • 6-8 ripe large peaches (about 3 pounds), washed and diced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for peach puree)
  • 1/2 cup water (for peach puree)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (for peach puree)

For the Lemonade Base

  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 8-10 medium lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for simple syrup)
  • 1 cup water (for simple syrup)

For Dilution & Serving

  • 4-6 cups cold water (for dilution)
  • Fresh peach slices (for garnish)
  • Lemon wheels or wedges (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint sprigs (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Use ripe peaches for the best flavor.

Substitutions & Swaps

  • Use honey instead of granulated sugar.
  • Swap lemon juice with lime juice for a twist.
  • Adjust the water based on your taste preference.
  • Try sparkling water for a fizzy version.

How to Make It

Let’s get started with making this refreshing beverage.

1. Prepare Peaches & Peach Syrup

Wash, pit, and dice 6-8 ripe peaches. In a medium saucepan, combine diced peaches, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup water, and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice. Simmer over medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes until peaches are very soft.

2. Make & Cool Peach Puree

Remove from heat, mash peaches thoroughly, then strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl to extract the smooth peach puree. Discard solids. Allow the peach puree to cool completely to room temperature.

3. Prepare Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and cool completely.

4. Prepare Lemonade Base

Juice 8-10 medium lemons to yield about 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice; strain to remove any seeds or pulp. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled simple syrup with the strained lemon juice. Stir well.

5. Assemble Lemonade

Add the cooled peach puree to the lemonade base in the pitcher. Stir vigorously to combine. Begin by adding 4 cups of cold water, stir, and taste. Gradually add more cold water (up to 6 cups total) until your desired strength and sweetness are reached.

6. Chill & Serve

Refrigerate the peach lemonade for at least 30 minutes to thoroughly chill. Serve over plenty of ice, garnished with fresh peach slices, lemon wheels, and mint sprigs. For a sparkling version, replace some or all of the dilution water with sparkling water or club soda.

How to Store It

Fridge: up to 3 days in an airtight pitcher.
Freezer: no, it will alter the texture.
Reheat: not applicable for this drink.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use the ripest peaches for maximum flavor.
  • Strain the lemon juice well to avoid pulp in the drink.
  • Adjust the sugar based on the sweetness of your peaches.
  • Let the lemonade chill longer for a more refreshing taste.

Serving Suggestions

  • Pair it with grilled summer vegetables.
  • Serve alongside backyard BBQ favorites.
  • Enjoy it as a refreshing drink at summer brunches.
